We hope you had a joyous and stuffed Thanksgiving with your family and friends. If you cut back on the turkey and the wine and the pie and the cognac to be sure you could be at the box store’s doors at 4:00am, then we hope you got what you wanted. Thanksgiving itself is wonderfully uncommercialized, but we all know what the next day is supposed to be about! Black Friday Deals often carry beyond Black Friday, or even the weekend, nowadays. And we wanted to share some news about two convenient apps that can find some of those deals for you.
The first, ‘ODAT Tracker‘ (One Deal At a Time), is for your mobile device (iPhone, smart phone, iPad, etc.). It is the way to go if you want to find online deals while you are in line waiting to buy the latest blue-ray player. The second is MacSAC, which gives you the same one-stop deal finding as ODAT Tracker, but is for your desktop/laptop. The latter looks and feels rather like a number of Twitter software packages (like Tweetdeck or BuzzBird), which our readers might already be familiar with.
These apps are different ‘front ends’ (the stuff the user sees and uses on his or her specific device) that link to the same ‘back end’ information. They concentrate on outdoors/outback companies like Tramdock (skiing) and Bonktown (mountain bikes and apparel). The recent updates to these apps also taps into REI, Backcountry Outlet, and numerous others. The developer company, Hunter Research and Technology, says new stores and deals will be added as new arrangements (and free updates) are arranged. Better still, ODAT Tracker users who make purchases through the app itself can get up to another 40% off from some retailers!
We hope you find one of the two versions of this service helpful as you whittle down your gift list of those who have been nice. For those who have been naughty, why not send them the Coal Mining Weekly app?
